- Group: Joyous Celebration

- Album: Joyous Celebration 9 : Live in Durban

- Year: Recorded and released on year 2005

- Label: Sony

- Mark: 4,5/ 7,0

God Bless You sisters and brothers in Christ. I will talk about the 9th album from Joyous Celebration. The album name is called "Joyous Celebration 9" and it was recorded live at the Playhouse, Durban, South África, with more than 3.000 people that were present on the live recording. The live recording was made on year 2005

Details:

- The album was made at Playhouse theater. At the time of Joyous 9, The Playhouse was doing a re-making of the place. The staff retired the theater structure when Joyous recorded the álbum. (with the theater structure, the capacity was to 1.200 people. Without the theater structure, the capacity was to 3.000 people).

- This is the first time where more christian people attends to a Joyous celebration live recording. So, Mthunzi Namba had the opportunity to minister and speak about Jesus, about God, about the gospel.

- The stage for this live recording was so similar to the "festival cristiano" (christian festival) that was made on Santiago, Chile. If we compare the stage for Joyous 9 to the stage from "festival cristiano", the stages are similar. But in Joyous 9 there were more concert lights.

- Some people says that Joyous 9 was recorded at ICC convention center, in Durban but this is a mistake. Joyous 9 was recorded at Playhouse, Durban. In the live recording more people attended to the live recording because the staff of Playhouse retired the theater structure to do the renovation of the Playhouse.

- The album was released on cd and video version. Obviously the real order of the live recording is on the video version but on the cd version the songs doesn't have the real order from the live recording.

- During the first song from the live recording (Don't give up), Mthunzi Namba starts a speech about the responsibility that have the husband and the wife to care the family according to God's will. During the speech, Mthunzi Namba ordered the women and the men to stand on the feet as a sign of authority as Mthunzi states the speech.

- William Sejake led the song HOLY SPIRIT. This was the first impressive moment of the live recording. The song was a sucess. It was sung on United States, on Europe and on some american countries.

- The song NGCWELE NGCWELE is the zulu translation from the song HOLY HOLY HOLY (HOSANNA). The song belongs to Kent Henry and the song belongs to the album "All Hail King Jesus" by Hosanna Music in 1986. This is not the only time where Joyous celebration does covers from Integrity Music. On the album "Joyous Celebration 25: Still we rise" the choir recorded the song "Days of Elijah" by Robin Mark. That song was recorded on the integrity music album "Revival in Belfast" with Robin itself.

- The song WHAT A MIGHTY GOD is a cover from Don Moen recorded on his album "Give Thanks" with integrity music in 1986. The gospel pastor Td Jakes recorded again the song as a gospel version in 1997. Joyous recorded the song according to the Td Jakes version.

- Jabu Hlongwane led the song ISIPHEPHO. The songs talks the story when Jesus calms the storm and the disciples were full of fear. The song was not included on Joyous 9 but it was included on Joyous celebration 12 as cd version. But this is a mistake because the real live recording on this song was extracted from Joyous 9.

- The song KASOZE was led by Nqubeko Mbatha. He played the piano since Joyous 9 until Joyous 15. He left Joyous after Joyous 15 because he saw many awful things. Joyous celebration was doing so much idolatry to man.

- Eloyi is a classic song. The song speaks about the words of Jesus in the cross: "My God, My God, ¿Why have You forsaken me"? During the song there was a chant moment.

- The song "GIVE HIM PRAISE" was accompanied with dancers that ignited the celebration on the stage.

- The song UTHANDO LUKABABA was formely recorded on joyous 2 as worship version but in joyous 9 the song was recorded as praise version.

- The song UYINKOSI YEZULU was led by Vuyo Mokoena.

- The song BEAULAH LAND
